Haiti was hit by a magnitude 7 earthquake on 12th January 2010.
The disaster lead to the loss of over 250,000 lives and over 1.5 million were displaced.
Compassion UK, an amazing international Christian child development and child advocacy ministry, sent us there a few years back to film this short documentary and discover the true impact of child sponsorship. We saw first hand the impact of the earthquake and the damage it had done to the society as a whole. The tent cities had reduced over time, however it was clear that there were a number of people that were still living in these large camps. While the situation had somewhat improved since the earthquake, it was clear that there was still a huge need. I believe that Compassion hold the key to one possible solution and a powerful way to meet this need.
Here’s our story:
I’ve been making all kinds of charity films, promotional films and documentaries for over 15 years. I’ve been moved by so many of these experiences but nothing quite hits you like Haiti.
Please, please, please consider sponsoring a child through Compassion.
I do – and it moves me every time I get a hand written letter from my boy telling me how much it means to him to be sponsored.
