Team Talk – Emma Little
Welcome to ‘Team Talk’
This is our new series from our crew here at Contra, designed to give you a little insight into what makes our awesome filmmakers tick.
Each week, we’ll have a brief Q&A with a member of our team. They’ll discuss the projects they’ve been working on, their inspiration and what they have coming up that they’re most excited about.
First up, we have Emma Little – our new Junior Producer. She’s involved in the logistics and smooth running of our projects here at Contra and we’re thrilled that she’s joined our team!
So without further ado, here’s our first Team Talk!
Remind us what you do at Contra?
Apart from playing with Bertie the office dog, making hard gif decisions and trying to figure out how the coffee machine works – i’m also Contra’s new Junior Producer! I’ll be coordinating projects by working out all the logistics that come with a shoot as well as taking on smaller projects myself to manage from initial conception through to final delivery.
What have you been up to recently?
Before Contra, I was working at a production company based in Deptford as their Production Coordinator. During this time I worked on some incredible projects with some really interesting brands, including coordinating long-form docs.
I’ve also been working on a few passion projects recently, earlier this year I co-produced a music video for an up and coming artist. We filmed in London and the Isle of White in the cold freezing month of February. You can check it out here!
What have you worked on that you’re most proud of?
I worked on a longform doc for approx 2 years which has not been released just yet but hopefully will be in the public eye very soon!
What have you got coming up that you’re excited about?
Well, super excited to see what Contra have in store for me!
I’m very much into relevant real life issues such as mental health, gang crime and homelessness. I have a number of projects that I’m working on. The ideas are still very much in the early stages but i’m really looking forward to giving them the time they deserve to make them into reality.
Who’s inspiring you at the moment?
Louis Theroux. Always Louis Theroux.
What have you seen recently that has blown your mind?
My Sunday evening was very lazy so I was actually sound asleep when the new David Attenborough ‘Dynasties’ series started – d’oh! I’ll be catching up on it tonight and I have absolutely no doubt it’ll blow my mind!
Finally… Give us some words of wisdom!
“If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?” – RuPaul, not me, but wise words regardless!
